A Trip to Shili

With the acquisition of beds, Zalea had docked the Redemption at XZ-220, loading Czerka™ brand products onto her ship, all the supplies for a long voyage for quite a few people. for the first time in weeks Zalea didn’t look exhausted in every possible way. They only requires a few items, and it doesn’t take them very long to be stowed away, until she is just left waiting for the other members of this outing.

As she waited, she seemed to almost grow excited, as ideas and thoughts move around in her head, and she gently bounces on the balls of her naked feet. Her eyes drift closed, as she thinks, imagines, wonders, loosing a bit of focus as to where she currently is, as she slips into meditation.

The thought of a break was a welcome one for Althea. She doesn’t remember when she has had one since coming to Viscara. Only work and training, which she has found herself already in the habit. Packing aside some tools, putting away a training regimen and then picking up a long packed duffel bag. Traveling light, as she always does.

It did not take her long to make her way to Czerkas eye sore in space. Walking about with her little tool box in one hand, and the duffle over her shoulders as she looks for the others.

Areda stood up in the space station, her earliness could betray her underlying excitement if not for the sheer energy she was giving off by vibrating in place. She stood there; dressed in a tank top and miniskirt, a single bag at her feet and her training weapon hostlered to her back, as well as another backpack filled with supplies.

She couldn’t wait to depart and drew odd looks as she just stood there waiting for her companions.

Clank. Scrape. Clank.

These sounds, punctuated by the occasional huff of exertion, herald Isena’s approach. She is garbed in her usual attire, modest robes stained by long months of adventure and misadventure. In lieu of a rucksack or a suitcase, she has an alarmingly large plasteel crate in tow.

“Hello. I have secured half a year’s worth of Bwotein. We shall not starve.”

And, with this simple explanation, she hauls the crate up the ramp and into the vessel proper, as if this were a perfectly normal thing to say or do. Her preparations are, it seems, complete.

The Togruta watches the immense amount of Bwotein being hauled onto her ship.

“I installed a cooking station, and I assume that a lot of the trip will be Areda killing stuff and then us eating that stuff. I don’t think we need shakes. I also prepared enough rations to feed twenty people for two months. And enough water for… for a very long time.”

She ushers everybody onto the ship, shows them their rooms. which is literally just a bed, and four metal walls. There is a center area, which seems to have Zaleas bed, a table with 5 chairs, and a cooking station. Off to the side there is a little work area, and some bunk beds. She pulls out a small holo projector, and places it on the table next to her bed. It pops up a mini map of the galaxy, and shows a route.

“Shili is very far away. We need to essentially cross three-fourths of the galaxy to get there. Thankfully, its almost all along hyperways. We go from Tatooine, alone the Corellian Run all the way to the core, then we take the Hydian Way, just for a bit, and Togruta space is just slightly off of that. Travel time will be… long. But its safe, and very easy to navigate. Settle in for a long trip. Does anybody here know how to fly? I know Areda does.”

As Zalea explains the route she takes the time to put her things down, seemingly claiming a top bunk without thinking about it.

“You are going to want to scramble the ships codes while in flight, to be safe. If we fly republic codes we might attract unwanted attention. Just until we are in uncontested space atleast.” Althea adds as she begins to unpack, it’s almost all the same clothes she has packed in a bag, folded up like uniform.

“I also can fly pretty well. Good ok the guns too if we need them, alongside I brought my tools incase you need mid flight repairs.”

After finding her way on the ship and taking a bottom bunk, she places her stuff at the end and goes to investigate the bwotine, “I refuse.” She says simply.

“We all can fly luckily.” She sits on her bunk and kicks her feet back and forth for a few moments before getting up and walking over to the cooking area and checking to see how well stalked it is.

“I will make is something yummy.”

“Oh,” Isena says, by way of reply to the pair, whilst also unpacking her meager belongings from the crate. There is a lot of Brotein beneath it all. “That is fine. Master Shax did prepare this with love and care, and it is both nutritious and filling. But he will understand, I am sure.”

Having settled away her belongings, she wanders over to the central area, to observe the holoprojector.

“That is quite the journey. I know my way around a ship, and can pilot one if needed. But I would rather not. I am unfamiliar with those reaches of space.”

Besides, Isena thought to herself, expression kept carefully blank. I am on vacation.

“Codes scrambled. We are officially a nobody with a new name that nobody knows. These are major lanes, so the chance of a random not important ship getting noticed is next to nothing. Literally millions of other ships will be using these Hyperlanes.”

The kitchen area is incredibly well stocked, as it seems Zalea has taken what she recently acquired from Althea, then added on every extra she can find. Areda will find flash frozen meat and vegetables in some crates in the back

“Does anybody have any plans for stuff to do while we travel?”

The smaller Togruta looked over at Isena as she was guilt tripped. She then shrugged and looked back to the pantry and started to assemble the makings for stir fry, grabbing fresh meats and veggies to chop up and prepare. Soon the air was filled with the sizzle of oil on hot pan and the aroma of meat saturated the area.

Her movements while cooking where strangely fluid, like it was some special kata of its own that she had invested a great time in, “I figured I would practice my kata and meditate.”

She added some veggies to the pan and flicked the pan, sending meat and veggie up in a beautiful motion, catching it without spilling a drop and keeping it held over the heat.

Beep.

Isena’s commlink chirruped. And then it did so a few more times, the shrill tones eventually resolving themselves into the opening theme of the Rhyl Girls. As meat and produce sizzled nearby, Isena peered down at her commlink, brows knitting together in consternation.

“Oh,” she finally says. “I am told to return. Temple business. This is most unusual and inconvenient.” A morose sigh follows as she trudges back into her room, remerging but a few moments later, a pitiful looking rucksack slung over one shoulder. “I should get back and see what it is that they require of me. I have left the Bwotein behind. This is my gift to you. Goodbye.”

I am no longer on vacation, she thought to herself, biting back a pang of disappointment.

Exit stage left. Isena has left the building ship.

“I do believe Areda would fight someone for fun, but if the point of this is to relax somwhat… Mayhaps now is the time to explore hobbies over training? At least during the travel.” Althea adds to what was being said.

“You best keep up your workout then while we’re away Isena.” She says as her padwan departs. A subtle frown on her face as she does. It does not last long however as she focus’ on unpacking still.

“You both do have hobbies right…?” She calls out a bit uncertain.

“No. Not really. Spending time with you two is my biggest hobby. I suppose tinkering with my ship and other ships as well? Engineering and the like. I might tinker with my lightsaber a bit as well. See if I cant make some of those parts you mentioned… I don’t have much going on in my life. I kind of mostly just work, meditate and talk too friends.”

She keeps the holoprojector out, as she moves to hover around Areda, looking at what she is cooking with great interest.

“Life is too short to not have something fun under your belt. Tinkering is fine! Got a project that you are working on currently? Considering the ship it might be fun to have a pet project?” She adds rather inquisitively.

Finishing setting up her claimed bunk she rests a worn guitar soon it’s sheets. Setting out to see the helm as the two indulge with food.

“Music.” She says simply as she finishes the stir fry, shoveling the food onto several plates and dishing up to her master, zalea and herself. Giving each an extra helping due to Isena’s abrupt departure.

“I can play a few instruments.” She then gets glasses and fills them with some lemonaid she kept in a thermos.

“But also my martial arts.” She chirps as if that was obvious.

“I am currently working on moving to a new ship, so a lot of my tinkering has actually been paused. I supposed my most recent project was working with the hyperdrive… I’ve also been fine-tuning the yield of my mining lasers, so as not to waste any metal I find.”

She pauses to accept the food, then sits down at her table.

“I suppose I also want to start fiddling with my lightsaber? I’ve not touched it since I made it, besides to take my kyber out.”

“It might be hard to find something that we all agree on to do then for the trip. At least based on what you both said.” She adds as she’s handed food, eating it like any other. With a slight disappointment on her face.

“Though areda does have a sparing partner for the trip.”

“I don’t think it will be so difficult, Althea.” She chirps as she sits to eat, kicking her feet back and forth, “We’re generally agreeable, as long as an idea occurs. I would be happy to do just about anything really.” she gives the declaration of her ultimate doom.

“As a Republic Corporal, I think its probably my duty to suggest something lewd, or a drinking game.”

She sets her food down, and moves up to the cockpit of her ship, checking on a few things, then returning

“Course all set in. It will be quite a few jumps, and we will need to stop along the way. Two and a half days, is my estimate. If things go smoothly. And there is always a chance to find something to do together. Its not like we don’t share interests or lifestyles. We could simply talk about our plans for Shili, if nothing else.”

“A drinking game I can do, though anything lewd would get me beyond just trouble with a Padawan present. Not that it would be appropriate for someone in my position to begin with.” Sure adds between munches. “I suppose you have a point on talking about goals for the trip. It would go a long way to plan things out to make the most of both your time there.”
