Abi - Symphonic through echos

It was quiet. Too quiet.

How long had it been since she felt this wound? It grew and grew to the point her meditations were the only safe places to retreat to. Selu and Kairos both had helped her getting back into this mantra of finding inner peace. No one could understand her, no one really wanted to see the ticking bomb. The tears flowed down her cheeks in the first time in months. Pain. The emotions finally gripped her mind that she finally could no longer keep the waters from being tighten.

She was floating in her familiar isolation island in her meditation. Back to square one in feeling the darkness cloud her future. Sel had helped her through her fears but it came spiraling back. Being in the Clan was a mistake but a well earned experience she had to trudge through. Hopefully her memories of the trauma would strengthen her even if she felt her heart tighten with each thought.

It was a mistake.

Mistake…

Never again would she look back on her armor and let it shed away like skin. She would have to mend for now. Her dark shadow ever so close to her it was hard to resist the anger the past few events through her months of Veles had brought her. She had failed her old master’s teachings after he had brought her in after the traumatic time a dark sider had almost had her in his grips.

“Why do you fight it?” The soothing voice said in a melodic tone, like tempting honey. “You could have removed them and let your fears be no more.”

There was silence as she floated, the languid darkness enveloped like a blanket over her body. The voice became louder like a cello, coming from the surrounding darkness. “Take us, take us.” It vibrated in repeat.

Silence.

The darkness retreated like a curtain and revealed the clear blue skies and ocean below. She gasped out as if being drowned out. For a moment she laid there staring up at the sky in peace. For ever since she could remember, she ignored her most inner thoughts after watching her father being attacked. She had unique abilities like most Force Sensitives and the added baggage of temptation in every corner. It was no different than having a bomb in hand and waiting for that faithful day to lash out.

She had found likeminded people who went out of their way to nurture that budding mould. Callista had surprised her by her kindness, Qy shouldered many burdens but was willing to leand an earhole, Kairos and Selly with their meditation sessions. It had been a rough start alone in the world but slowly her panicked nature would be tempered.

The closeness and fondness of music had kept her sane…most of the time. When she felt the corruption from the zombie creature’s slash, she swiftly thought about the time she played the flute her mother gave her.

Sing a song…

Slowly she opened her eyes and found herself back in her familiar room. The tears now dried from her eyes and cheeks. How long had she been grieving during her meditation she had no clue but her heart felt a bit lighter in finding comfort in the musical thoughts. She got up from her cross legged position and headed to her bed to dream once more, hopefully a more peaceful rest.

A few days earlier - The Fall of Revan

Mon Cala - Hospital

The fight with Revan proved that she was woefully prepared. Why did she sign up for this anyway? It was supposed to be an escort mission, yes, but having to face Revan himself? Tried as she must, her and comrades barely made a scrap on the dark lord. Abi found herself nearly at death’s door when Revan’s saber cut into her back and when the bridge exploded, shrapnel embedded into her. Darkness befell the young Jedi and she struggled on a thin string to keep alive. Seku had picked up Abi as they finally captured Revan and made an escape before the ship blew up.

------…

There was a sound of low clicks, whistles, and pulsed calls as it echoed out around a floating body in a stilled sea. The young blonde opened her eyes to see the stars floating in the vast sky and the cool waters that lapped against her body. She felt light as air in the water as musical songs of alien-like whales played below. Did she die? Was this heaven? The last thing her memory pieced was facing down Revan and then a searing flash of red.

Her consciousness flitted in and out from the Mon Cala hospital, certain darkness gripping her as she struggled within. Seku, Callista, Corbin, Kairos, and Qy rushed to keep Abi stable when the Kolto tanks were alarmed by Abi’s critical condition. She had to undergo surgery from multiple broken ribs that had to be replaced among the scarring the saber wound that cut along her back. An extra wound to remind her of.

“Do you see how you hold yourself back?”

Floating aimlessly in her inner world, Abi stared up at the sky where the slow movements of a dark-looking whale sailed around in circles among the stars. One after one the stars blinked out, some even pulsing out in destruction in their dying light and spraying like droplets of water.

“If you only listened to your inner power within yourself you would have triumphed. Now this pain will remind you of your failures.” the whale gave out a low rumble followed by clicking.

The voice was right in a way, if she did not cower before and thought rationally she wouldn’t have been beaten so much. But would it have been worth tapping into the dark powers that sung so sweetly to her? It was always a constant battle ever since she was younger and tapped more into the Force. The Dark Side always knew she was fearful of taking its power, it dangled out there like a tempting sweet candy. Often times she wished to taste just a bite of it but pulled away at the last second knowing it would corrupt her. But would that power actually help her in her time of need?
