Aedan Terallis: War

Aedan was awake for about ten minutes already at the time, but he just stared at the ceiling up his room in silent thought. He still felt sore from all that happened the previous day, and his thoughts continuously drifted to everything that happened, things that might’ve been able to go differently, and even possibilities for the future. As usual, his mind refuses to slow down when faced with something like this. It wasn’t that he didn’t feel calm, but just couldn’t help his thought processes.

There were also the suspicions he had lingering in his mind. Perhaps mild paranoia on all the events that occurred. How precise and well timed everything was. It was a trap meant for them, after all, from the start. But he finally just decided to get up and get dressed. He wandered into the other room, in its usual messy state, before sitting down on his usual chair. He then pulled out his datapad, bringing up the images he took of the enemy’s armour and the symbol they wore.

It seemed obvious now, after all that happened, that these were soldiers of Revan. Or at least it appeared like it was made to seem that way. It was hard to tell for certain, though. Just assumptions backed up by general proof. Not that he doubted it anyways, but he wanted to be fully sure.

“Just how vast are his forces, though? Is his objective to crush the Republic and the Jedi? This is the second major attack, and both have been major Republic shipyards.”

He sighed to himself and shut off the datapad before resting his head back. He stared up at the ceiling in thought again. Everything from the previous day came to him again, in his thoughts. The arrival with the bustling life of the city, the general silence within the building, the combat with all the soldiers and droids, the girl in the main office, the building crumbling around them, the vast number of dead after they left the building, and then the mysterious man as they had left.

One thing that seemed to bother him, however, is that he felt very little for what was witnessed. He was surprisingly calm, despite everything. It wasn’t that he entirely lacked feelings. He carried sadness, frustration, loss, but it was far less than he expected. Like the feelings felt dulled, somehow. It didn’t seem to extend to all his emotions, as he still seemed perfectly content in more positive emotions. But where he should feel more loss and sadness over the death of so many people, it was hardly present.

“… Am I a bad person? What’s wrong with me?”

He closed his eyes and just let out a heavy sigh before he decided to get up from the chair. He moved over to the haphazard set up on the far side of the room. Various sized stone and metal obelisks dotted about as something of a training area. He began to simply distract himself for a long while, moving about with his lightsabers and Force abilities, just practicing. It was some time later when he finally stopped and decided to head out into Veles to wander.
