Althea sat over looking a small pond within the Crystal caves. Seela had dragged her there to listen to Althea’s woes but had fallen asleep long ago. She could see Seela’s reflection in the pond, rested against the wall with Athea’s cloak over her like a blanket. A sigh escaped her lips as she watched, something that was more common to her of late. Slowly she brings her knees to her chest and hugs them dearly in an effort to comfort herself.
It had been a long night for the two, and a far more emotional and taxing one for Althea. She had never let out what she was feeling before, not like that. The horrors, the pain, the loss, the frustrations, the anger but mostly the guilt. A guilt that had driven her to make many of the choices she had made since coming to Viscara. Never before had she laid herself so naked to someone before with all her deeds and mistakes that make her who she is, yet Seela still did not judge her so like she had secretly feared all this time. Instead Seela had done what she had always done for Althea, calm her on a deep level.
Althea couldn’t help but smile by now as she looked away from Seela but it did not last. Like a stark reminder of what she is she see’s it in the waters reflection, looking down at her with hungry red eyes. A beast with black fur and abnormal qualities, you would be forgiven for thinking it was a wolf but it’s mouth was much to long to be any creature that existed. The eyes with strange like it was a brand instead of proper eyes only making a weird shape not too unlike a Z. It has only grown since the war, a beast that only gets more and more imposing every time it shows itself to her and now it is a beast that is hungry to hunt. She looks back and over her shoulder to find nothing is there though… a small hope in the night that maybe this time it was something real. That maybe this time it was something she could stop. She looks back to Seela for comfort, daring to not sleep, not now, not until someone could watch over her.
