A man enters a room, inside is a table, three figures can be seen on one end of the table and a lone chair. The man who walked in walks over and takes a seat, placing a device on the table.
“Did you get what we asked for?”
The man upon being asked presses a button. The sound of a Holotape starting can be heard. The room goes silent. A voice comes from the device but no image is to be seen.
"I'm sorry to bring you in on short notice but as you can imagine we've had our hands full with the interviews. Can I get a name, rank and relation to the one in question for the record Madam?"
"I am Jedi Master Ashla Lorenso, Althea is.. was my Padawan before the war."
"Very good, I am Cornell Birbli the lead investigator into why the those who followed the Revanchist movement within the order, and why they followed the one who renamed themselves Revan. I'm going to need to ask a few questions about your Ex-Padawan as you put it?"
"Ask away Cornell, but I feel like you'd be disappointed in your investigation I'm afraid."
"That will be determined Master Lorenso. Now were you present to see when she left?"
"No, I was not, she left in the night with many other Padawans and knights. From what I understand she left with the group that were swayed by Revans charisma on the matter."
"I see, that's a shame then. Do you know why she left then?"
"No.. I don't know why she left, maybe if I did I could have stopped her before it happened? Maybe she wouldn't have had to go to war. But I can tell you she wouldn't have left with Revans reasoning. I'm certain there's more to it then that."
"Well if that's the case Master Lorenso, what can you tell me about Althea's time in the order? Maybe you can help shed some light into why she might have left to war."
"Althea wasn't anything special for the order, she was taken in at a young age when they found her to be sensitive to the force but with no family when the Jedi found her she forsake any notions of a last name, keeping to the name that Jedi Knight Varel Ferndike gave her."
"That's not true, she couldn't be anything special and be chosen to be a Padawan, something must have stood out to you?"
"She has a firm belief in what she is. More then any other youngling that I've seen she wants to be a protector, she wants to defend others to her utmost ability, even if her abilities are lacking."
"Are you saying your Padawan was lacking?"
"No, I'm not saying she was lacking in ability, I'm saying that among her peers she was not the shining one in the bunch, but that's not why I choose her, as I said, it was her spirit that made me decide so."
"Continue then, what of her days in the order."
"When she came to the order she was placed in Dantooines enclave, where she learned the basics. As I stated before she was average among her peers, but she had a budding friendship with another in her time training."
"Ah yes, Seela'vida right?"
"Yes, Seela'vida. They were close, Althea seemed infatuated with Seela at times.. maybe more. It was an unusual thing, something akin to a bond from the force, but they were separated often after a few teachers suspected such."
"You do know that Seela'vida was one of the padawans that went to war on that night too don't you?"
The Holotype stops for awhile, as if paused before the shadowy figure speaks again, his voice different from the two from the Holotape.
“So, she does have a connection with Seela’vida?”
The man sitting across from the three has a familiar voice, one matching Cornell Birbli, from the Holotape. He responds to the question.
“Yes, more then just her Master Confirms this, Althea served with Seela’vida. She’s been on most deployments with Seela’vida too, from the jungle moon Dxun to Malachor V. You could not find the two apart in any records or recollections from the war.”
A sharp interest is increased among the three.
“Does she know any of Seela’vidas other bonded ones location are then?”
Cornell shakes his head, a certainty in his answer.
“Seela’vida parted ways with Althea when the war ended. All our investigations suggest that Althea was the only one bonded to her before the war ended.”
There’s a disappointed sound from the main one of the three.
“If you continue to listen you might learn what you want to learn.”
The three sit back, waiting to listen to what the Holotape has left to say. Cornell presses the button to continue.
"Yes, Seela'vida had a connection with her but I had hopped Althea wouldn't do something so rash. The day she left is the last day I saw her. There's been no response from her. I didn't expect her to have followed Revan after the war like all the others though, but Seela'vida on the other hand, she was passionate to a fault, and quick to be drawn into the passions of others."
"Did Althea get along with anyone else then? Is there anything else you feel I might need to know?"
"She was polite and got along well with her peers, she was one to ask questions and seek knowledge. She cared about those around her and she cared even more about the plight of those away from her. You've been asking me why she went to war? I believe she went to war to help, to save lives when she felt the council didn't care enough.. that I did not care enough."
"Well, this will all be noted down for consideration Master Lorenso. I do hope you find a new student in the future who is more understanding but that is all for today, you're free to leave."
"... Have a good day Cornell."
The Holotape goes to a faint white noise before ending altogether.
“That’s all you got from the Jedi? A lousy amount of information?”
Cornell looks unconquerable with that news
“I couldn’t go deeper, the only lead we had on Seela’vidas connection was this Althea! What else do you want from me?! To scour the galaxy for anyone else she could have potentially bonded with?!”
The three look to each other, like a silent agreement among them was struck before looking back to Cornell.
“You know Lord Revan wants to know the potential of these bonds, and you’re telling us that your only clue is this Padawan? Yet you don’t know where she is?! You’re telling us that you’ve managed in all this time not find another whom Seela’vidas has bonded with?! She does it so freely now how can you be so sure that it was only one in the past?! Need we remind you what failure brings Cornell?”
Cornell curls up a little in response to them, not saying any words to their questioning. The main of the three continues.
“Cornell, you’re to find her, where ever she may be, you’re to get what we want from her, then you’re to return to us, is that clear? The woman is to not be harmed unless you find another.”
A single nod as acknowledgement was given.
“Good, now give us any imagery you have of her, you won’t be the only one hunting her down.”
He reluctantly gives them a single photo before attempting to leave, the image showing Althea during the war.
“Oh and Cornell I hope for your sake that you find her before the rest, there won’t be any more chances after this.”
Cornell fixes his composure, not letting the three find anymore signs of weakness as he leave. A few moments or so pass since Cornell left and the three speak and bicker among each other. One of the two to the side speak up for once, a womans voice heard
“Now what do we do with Seela’vida?”
The main one in the center responds.
“We keep as we are, and give her new ones to connect to, maybe another will survive. Maybe we’ll get what we need from her. Maybe… but the others will find out for us if Cornell will not, soon we will understand this.”
The chamber goes silent, and in this silence an agreement is met among them, permitting them to at last leave.
