Batons and shields

Hey guys.

Just wanted to comment on the current issue with both using and crafting batons. There is three types of batons using different types of base items.

  • Baton M (Base Item Maces)
  • Baton C (Base Item Clubs)
  • Baton MS (Base Item Morningstar)

Of all three, two of them are finnesable, Baton M and Baton C. And from these two only Baton M counts as a Baton when it comes to perks. Baton C its considered a Martial Art Weapon. At the moment Baton M feels extremely underwhelming due to its really low dice damage and, as far as I can see, lack of utility over any other item.


As for the Shields, it seems slightly absurd that the “Tower Shield”, even if its a force shield, weights 45 lbs. Shields themselves are already in a strange place due to requiring a lot of points of investment as if it was another weapon making you use 200 of your points instead of just a 100 if you dual-wielded the same type of weapon.

So please make the weight on shields much less and perhaps revisit their current power as to make them slightly more attractive and balanced.

With the Revamp, shield usage is going to be under Armor amongst a lot of other skill streamlining. base weight reduction on shields would definitely be nice considering they are typically hardlight constructs here.
