Character Biography. Simir Tan'ralla

Name: Simir Tan’ralla
Born: 3983 on Bothawui

Race: Bothan

Place of birth: Drev’starn city.
Factional affiliation: Bothawui Military - Lieutenant, Nobility - Clan Tan’ralla

Born into the opulence and safety of what passes for nobility on Bothawui to a young couple named Tarnnik and Ansh’iya. Simir grew in quiet tutelage as the first born and heir apparent to the vast Tan’ralla estate and holdings, being groomed at a young age to learn the basics of controlling the emotions felt by her fur. And exploiting those shown to her by others. The dispassionate lessons and tutelage hand picked by her mother was contrasted in those early years by the calm and deeply compassionate attention bestowed upon her by Tarnnik who left the running of the Clan to his more ruthless wife. Simirs early years were thus unremarkable being taught statehood and lessons of commerce alongside that of charity and empathy.

The first points of interest of her thus far quiet life was when she turned ten and started her external learning. Tutored with a group of ten other young girls of her social status, Simir started to learn how to interact with her own kind, and to servants that she hasn’t known for her whole life. In this time she adopted a hobby for reading about lightsaber form, scouring the archives and running with sticks in mock battle with each other. A pass time which infuriated her strict Mother and tutors. Though the height of this obsession occurred when Ansh’iya finally broke to Simir’s pressure and acquired her daughter a genuine codex of the first three forms. Acquired through the Bothan spynet and presumed stolen from some far flung temple. Soon after Simir took to travel with her family to various trade deals and visits throughout major centres in the core and midrim. Learning the cultures and interactions of the upper crust of the galaxy. The most meaningful of these were her two trips to the senate building on Coruscant which lent her the perspective of her father and reinforcing the neutrality of Bothawui in her mind.

It was soon after her sixteenth birthday that the trajectory of her life changed with the sudden death of Tarnnik. Caught in a shuttle accident during the most routine of trips, the shock of this coupled with the grief felt by Simir and Ansh’iya caused a rift to form between the two. Tension, fights, and heated arguments about the trajectory of the Clan and Simirs tutelage erupted almost daily, lending Simir a independent streak that led to her at nineteen joining the Bothawui Military Academy.

Having traditions in place that allow anyone to discreetly join the armed forces and a deep cultural taboo about forcefully removing family members Simir got her first chance on her own outside the walls of her family estates and without the oversight of her parents. She took to her training in the officer school with a zeal scoring highly on marksmanship and leadership tests finishing near the top of her class. She fell in love with the military, it treated her with a cold detachment that it did everyone who churned through it. After her qualifications were complete she was given a command, a platoon of defence force persons. Doing patrols, anti pirate inspections, and raids Simirs time in service was largely uneventful despite her best efforts. Achieving the rank of Lieutenant and little else during her time in the military Simir slowly realized that her mother working from the sidelines and her chain of commands fear of endangering a Tan’ralla stonewalled her desires to make a meaningful impact. After five years of frustration Simir finally transferred to the reserve readiness corps and went back home taking the role of an adult in her family. This was short lived as a little less than two years of fighting over stock investment and policy led to a final argument that led Simir to smuggle herself out to the Rim. Bouncing from place to place, somewhere to strike out on her own it was on Viscara that her credit chit was finally declined, this stinking muddy backwater too far off the track for the financial sectors to take note. Home to just another floundering Czerka investment and plenty of strife would be her home for the next chapter of her life.
