Early Formation
250 years before the Mandalorian Wars, Mandalore the Dominant rewarded several low-birth Mandalorian warriors of this expansion campaign with nobility and land rights. One of these individuals was Doorryn Azert - an acclaimed pilot who successfully completed over 145 bombing missions in his 3-year career.
His clan was granted lands on a nameless tropical water moon now known as Kiibee II. Ever since, this small moon has been the main seat of power for this lesser noble house of Mandalorian society.
However, for the past 67 years, Clan Azert has made their stronghold on Hoth their secondary seat of power.
Mando Medics
Aside from having a reputation for producing ace pilots, Clan Azert is known mostly for their innovative combat medicine techniques and exhaustively difficult medic training. Their battle circles may not be the best for front-line ground combatants, but Clan Azert trains the bravest, most daring medics willing to jump into danger just to save their wounded… Or so they would have you believe.
Clan Warfare Principles
Clan Azert separates themselves from many other clans, in that there are a lot of rules and practices to perform duties with upmost Honor.
- Never sign a contract for targets too weak to be a challenge.
- Never fight unarmed combatants with an intent to kill.
- Never intentionally kill civilians.
- Respect surrenders.
- Don’t pick fights with rival clans, unless you know you can win.
- Clan Azert always keeps a contract.
Because of these strict standards, Clan Azert can be a bit to handle sometimes with other clans. Many clans find the Azerts to be a tad too self-righteous, if truth be told.
Politics
Due to their unbelievably high moral standards, Clan Azert’s current ruler (Krynt Azert), pulled his support for Mandalore the Ultimate during the Mandalorian Wars - right after civilian Republic colonies were invaded. It was only due to a small contingent of Clan Azert pilots ignoring their clan elders and offering their services to Mandalore, that Clan Azert was not punished outright.
Due to the neutral stance Krynt Azert took during the war, however, Clan Azert is loathed by most of the major house clans who fought and lost almost everything from the war. As such, Azert foundlings have had to retreat to the Hoth stronghold for their battle circle training.
Soo many rival clans would love to get even with them, after all.
