Pain. Anger. Single-minded devotion. She needed to do this.
The galaxy needed this...
Her -son- needed this...
Screams. Smoke. The smell of burnt flesh, the sinking, sickening, sweet feeling
of thrilling shame. Staring into someone's eyes as the light leaves them. Death.
It was his father's eyes. How dare he? How could he not see? How could he try to
take her son away?! Corbin, Corbin would understand, one day. When he was older
he would
see the truth, he would know what she had to do. He would forgive her.
Need to hide. Have to go away for a while. The pain, unbearable. Close to the
edge.
Eyes flutter closed. A deep, deep trance, death-like sleep.
My son... have to... son...? Where is my son where is my son
WHERE IS MY SON W̱͈̘H̪͇͜E̟Ṟ̭E ͚̫͓I̞͉͠S̱̫̭ ͕̩̀M̙̝͘Ỳ̖̭ ̲̪͜S̵̭͍O͚̥N̗̳̮ ẆͩͫH̪͑͡Eͩ̑ͥȒͦ̚E̶̍̃ ͩͨ̌I͋ͬ̆S̊̊̔ ̽ͧ͂M̑͒̿Y̐̍̔ ̸́͡S̗͐͟O̔̓̆N̿̋͘
Corbin’s eyes shot open as he suddenly pulled his hand from the lightsaber his mother onces called hers. Sweat would begin dripping down his face. How could all this emotion remain tethered to this blade of Julianna. He could feel the anger…the pain… the screams and other horrors. Corbin was reliving the death of his own father, what really happened prior to him arriving. He would let out a sigh and looks to the holocron sitting on the table. He would raise the cube into the air with the Force and close his eyes once more. As the holocron activated, an image of a man appeared.
"Do you wish to continue with the assigned lesson, Padawan Annothe?"
"Yes Master Duursema. Please continue where we left off."
"Very well. Psychometry or as the Kiffer know it as Tai Vordrax is a Force ability that allows the usre to pick up the impressions and various traces of information as well as events of the past that have surrounded the object"
Corbin would grab the lightsaber from the table and continue to listen tot he holocron as it spoke. His eyes would gaze upon it once again as he traced his finger along the edges of the his mother’s gift.
Doubt. Worry.
Something is wrong. The Jedi Council of Coruscant had declared they would not
stop the Mandalorians. Why? What did they know?
What had they seen? Why was the Corellian Order following suit?
There was a Jedi visiting. Two, actually, but only one caught her interest.
He seemed to want to do something, was gathering support.
So many people suffering at the hands of the crazed Mandalorian clans. Someone
had to do something. She should talk to him...
...Because what if the Mandalorians came to Corellia next?
Corbin awoke again, and he would look around in a slight panic. Was he able to do it again? This time it was different. He would stare off in thought as he remembered this day. It appeared to him in a past dream. It was the day Revan came to Corellia. He would shake his head to regain his composure and listen on once more.
"This power allowed the user to view events as if they were there, including the sights, sounds, and feelings, both emotional and physical, that the wielder of the object experienced. This power was easier to use on personal objects that were used frequently. Objects that were used once or by several people often made the use of this power difficult, though it was still possible. This skill was useful for tracking, though it was not useful in open battle and would fail to render useful information at times."
"The power could taint the user if the object had been used to execute dark-side-related actions, like murder. Wielders of the dark side could use it on living beings, ripping memories from their brains.
"The Jedi Council strongly discourage the use of psychometry on dead bodies, as the emotions prior to a violent death were so strong that the deceased would have likely brushed with the dark side. This endangered Jedi by exposing them to these powerful emotions."
Corbin’s reality begain to shift again…
Joy, radiant and unbridled. Nothing could match this.
Soft weight in her arms, warmth, tiny movements. Little breaths. Her husband
hovered nearby, gazing down with a smile of near-equal measure.
This was it. Proof - that life was worth living. That there was beauty
in the galaxy.
She would do anything to protect this child. She'd already lost one.
"Corbin... our sweet baby boy."
This time when Corbin awoke…tears were flowing down his cheeks. He could feel his mother’s joy… He would looks in realization of something he didnt know. He was not the first child of Julianna and Hando. Why was this never mentioned by his parents.
As he stood up he looks over to the holocron,
"It is frowned upon that excessive use of this power, as it allowed the user to experience intense emotions, which might make him or her more susceptible to the dark side of the Force.
Extreme cases caused the psychometric’s mind to become trapped, and rarer still, caused death."
He would frown slightly as he heard this. He wanted to learn more about this. Though that would mean he would potentially have to go back to Corellia to find the answers from the Green Jedi. However, that frown started to turn into a smile. He would look to the large box with a small one resting on top.
"Happy Life Day…"
