Corbin Annothe - The way untold

Mood: Hollow

Charros IV…

> “Don’t die, ya?”

The last words they always spoke on their many training sessions and discussions…

The Jedi would look around as he watched the carnage and destruction of the once great technological marvels. Civilians bunched up like bantha for the slaughter. The team Corbin came with were fotunate and managed to bring back more then half the people back to the ships…

Then the Sith arrived…

The march of metallic boots echoed through the sounds of plasma, rubble and screams. They were prepared searching, Corbin could sense this. What they were looking for? He could only guess.

After the last group made it to the ships, the heroes began making their way back until BOOM! An explosion causing a building to collapse nearby. They would rush over to find a hooded figure standing there. The figure would pull back to reveal his mentor…Sandra.

However, while Callista and Jace rushed to her aid…Corbin walked up to them with his lightfoil ignited and twirling to deflect incoming blasterfire. He briefly would look to her but then the sudden chill of dread and death flowed around them.

He could feel them…The Sith he had encountered before this were nothing like the ones on this planet. The cold, calculated feeling…He could almost taste that if it were possible.

The team would begin their retreat to the ships…

The young Initiate would come to a halt and turn to face the Sith with his blade pointed to them…

"Can I win this battle…

“No…”

Then Corbin would look up to the hanging structure of the build and what remained…This gave him an idea…

Corbin continued to deflect oncoming blaster bolts, his allies yelling at him to hurry but he had a plan he needed to try. Raising both his hands, he would focus all that he could muster in the Force to the building…it slowly began to rumble…

As he was watching the rubble kill off a few of the oncoming Sith troopers, he made eye contact with one of the leading Sith Lords…a woman with red hair. His mind would begin to dwell back to his mentor for a moment until he heard Markus and Althea scream his name.

Corbin would grumble and begin his retreat back to the ships.

After boarding the Beryn’s Legacy, his flight back became a blur…

His thoughts went to the inner depths of his soul…He saw Sandra…he say the Sith Lord. Corbin would reach for Sandra. Memories of all his training, their talks, his feelings all flooded in.However, he couldnt reach her…and would withdraw.

The red-headed Sith would grab Sandra and all would fade to black…

He felt detached…Was this what she meant…

Hutlar…

“I am one with the Force…”

image

Corbin would wander the snowy hillscape of Hutlar. Dwelling on the past series events with Nephy and how long he could continue the facade with her. Even with the heed of the council, he still felt that more information could be extracted. He was able to identify one of the new Sith Acolytes, even had a run-in with them in Veles Colony.

“I need to be mindful of my hubris…”

He need to find his balance again, he knew this was certain. Corbin looked up to the aurora overhead and let out a heavy sigh. The colors resonated with him, especially the shades of purple. The young Jedi reflected on the recent lesson on the Jedi Code with Callista, Dominic, Mart, and Iskellia. The color of violet felt so attuned to his mind but the question was why?

Tatooine…

Coarse…

Burning…

Corbin would wander the desert searching for ore and dwell on the previous days…Markus’ sentencing…his fellow Jedi sustaining near fatal injuries at the hand of the Republic extremists…his ascension to a Padawan…and his soon to be departure to protect the Princess of Onderon…

“What have I gotten myself into…?”

Finally, he would find a natural ore deposit to harvest and would begin to extract the needed resource. Thoughts of the past long forgotten started to flood into his head. Thoughts on his parents deaths, being guided to Viscara by the will of the Force. He could feel a major change approaching but the question he asked himself: Which door was going to open next?

An echoing voice would be heard by him again… but this time, a figure would appear before him

“Balance…”

Over Mon Cala…

Corbin stares into the watery planet of Mon Cala from the viewport of the Beryn’s Legacy. A defeated and exhausted look and feeling covered his entire being.

As he turns his attention to the sleeping Claude, Casey and wrapped in a cloak Tara…He has a set of flashbacks.

The first…his last conversation with Nephthyra,

He could feel it…

The conflict…

She had a chance for redemption…

But what would be the cost…

Fade to Black

Theme: Revelation

The next flashback was collecting Claude and Casey…

The sound of blasterfire, the clashing of energy against energy could be heard on the outskirts of the Veles Colony. A cloaked figure with their hood hiding their face and a blue energy blade could be seen deflecting plasma bolts from outside the Community Center.

“JEDI!”

A few Sith Troopers surrounded the figure and continued firing.

I am one with the Force…The Force is with me…

The sight that was seen after…was quick and painful…

The figure awoke from his trance-like state…The troopers laid on the ground, scorch marks and holes from plasma covered their armor…lifeless. The figure stood for a moment before exposing what was hidden away under his robes. Two little creatures, fearful yet clinging to him. The figure pulled back his hood to reveal his face.

It was Corbin…but something was off.

He looks up to the sky, the rain…the aeriel sounds of ships blarring through the sky…Viscara was lost…but he would not give up on bring what was lost back… He would look down to Claude and Casey…though when they looked upon him…all the saw was golden eyes…

He would then come to the realization, he felt Tara’s presense nearby. He would give himself abit to recover from his rage and make a break for it to Tara’s home and smack on door of the domed hut. Finally, a half awake Tara would open the door. He kept his eyes averted from her gaze, unsure that they hadn’t return to normal.

“Mmm…Corbin? …What time is it?”

“Get your stuff…we are leaving Viscara.”

Corbin glances around as Tara takes what time they have to gather some belongings. He would turn back as Tara exited the hut with a few things. He would sigh and pull of his cloak and wrap it around her followed by giving her the two squalls.

They would make their way to the Legacy and broke orbit to Hyperspace…

Corbin returns to reality and look down again to the watery planet…

“Time to get to work…”

Beryn’s Legacy…

Mood: Breaking.

Corbin would wake up suddenly with sweat dripping down his face. He would look over to see a woman beside him and sigh heavily. He would pull the covers off of him, sit up and look over again. So much has been going on and he was lost in the seeds of confusion. He would lay his head in his hands and dwell on everything:

Jace’s Death…

Rai’s Death…

The Siege of the Republic Base…

Qyilisc’s internal turmoil…

…His confusion between Iskellia and Sania…

Something had to give…something had to break. The Jedi was nearing his breaking point. He kept most of his feelings with these events at bay but for how much longer…

He would look back to see Sania turning in the bed, soundly sleeping. He knew this was wrong, but there was a pull to her. He didnt know why but he felt its connection even within the Force…

Corbin would finally get out of the bed and make a brief trip to the cockpit of the ship to watch his coordinates and nav planning. The view over Mon Cala was a beautiful sight but his mind continued to wander back to all the recent tragedies.

Over and Over again…

“…I could help them…”

" …I couldn’t stop them…"

Kashyyyk was around the corner, and another battle was upon them. He would make his way over to the meditation room onboard the Legacy and sit down. Two square objects laid before him…

“Corb…I have feelings for you…”

He would shake his head and pick one of them up. Suddenly, it would come to life. The corners would begin twisting and separate until a figure would appear in a blueish glow…

“Greeting Padawan, here begins your first lesson and understanding of Animal Bond…”

Corbin would continue to listen to the words for a few hours until the physical world began to blur and all that stood before him. Shades of Red…Shades of Blue…then in the Middle…Shades of Violet…

Mon Cala…

Jedi Refuge…

Corbin stood on the ledge of a cliff, looking down to the vibrant blue waters of Mon Cala. He would take in the scenery, and a smile formed on his face.

Thoughts dwell back to the Echani ritual he experienced with Ira’dana. He did not expect to be such a thrilling experience. He reminised on the feelings of vunerability and understanding, with just one jab to the chest. He would smile as he looked to the sea. He was wrong about what he initially thought about Ira’dana. And for that he was very grateful.

Next on his mind was Iskellia, they use to be so close…and now it was more of a far off memory. He still thought of her with great respect and admiration, but something was different. She stuck to her reading of report and studies. We are both Padawans to Callista but on so very different paths. He also noted that at time, she expected him to do task that she use to not do herself. That caused him to chuckle. She was finally finding her place and he was happy for her.

Sania…

The Princess of Onderon…One who meant so much to him and at the same time, was fading from his thoughts. What could really become of them? All that matter was she was safer now that the Dark Lord who haunted her for so long was gone. Ontop of that, a huge burden of relief was lifted from Corbin. Sania did not have to look behind her back evervday thinking someone was going to attempt an assassination… We will always share our moments and treasure them.

Then there was the most unexpected thing to ever walk into his life. Someone with absolutely not judgement. Someone who he shared his story and did not seem phased. Instead, there was so much compassion, understanding, sympathy. And that was just only the beginning. They both shared similiar experiences, some were practically the same. The Force is at work here, and he knew it.

Corbin looks about the ocean and stood, so much progress had been done in such a short amount of time and for once, he could really feel hope.

" P’uru…"

…Mon Cala…

Flyers would appear around the “Elite” Hotel, images of a boy missing. A Jedi youngling but this seemed odd. Jedi dont share posters like this…

Corbin continued to stare at the image of the boy…Everything around the hotel would begin to warp and change…

…Corellia…

The boy would be hoping through the trees laughing playfully…

“You won’t catch me!” He yelled playfully, hopping from branch to branch.

“Get back down here young man! This is not how you visit your mother while she is training!”

A man in CorSec garbs yelled as he chased the boy on the ground. He would groan as the boy ignored his words.

Bustling out of the trees the boy would fall the the ground rolling in awe of what he saw before him.

A Jedi Knight in the middle of an open field, performing her morning meditation of Shii-Cho. Her grace only met her ferocity and perfection of the motions of her blade. That Violet blade blurring in the air and the iconic noise of the lightsaber. The woman would finally come to a halt after a few moments and look to the star-stricken boy with a smile on her face.

“Corbin Annothe…is this how you approach a Jedi Knight before the Initiate Trials?” She says rather calmly as she approaches the boy.

“Mommy, I just wanted to see youz practice your Shee-Chuu”

The woman would kneel next to him and help him stand up

“Shii-Cho, my little Youngling.”

Corbin would grumble having messed up the words and start practicing the correct pronunciation of the words.

Finally, the CorSec Officer would finally catch up. He would be panting heavily as he started catching his breath and look to the Woman and the young Corbin.

“Julianna…” He takes a deep breath to get his words out “I hope as Corbin gets older, he wont be this crazy! If I had known this when he was born, I wouldnt have agreed to him joining the Corellian Order!”

The woman would look to the boy smiling then to the man,

“Hondo…You know you love me. You would have said yes to me regardless.”

The Man would grumbled then finally let out a sigh and nod to her.

“Anything for my Violet Orchid…” The man would smile to the woman.

In the distance, Another Jedi would be looking on as he watched the scene would unfold. He would take a commlink from his belt and activated it.

"Alak…I found one for the Strike Team…"
