Future Force powers

Some ideas for future Force powers (perks):

Light side:

Telekinetic Blast (AoE Force Push, either centered around the caster or in a cone)

Dark side

Force Scream (Either AoE cone or single target, perhaps dealing partial sonic damage)

Both

Force Speed

Force Augmentation (basically a durational buff to STR, DEX & CON)
3 ranks:
R1: +2 CON, +2 DEX, +2 STR, lasts 2 minutes
R2: +2 CON, +2 DEX, +2 STR, lasts 5 minutes
R3: +4 CON, +4 DEX, +4 STR, lasts 5 minutes

As this buffs all combat attributes, Force cost needs to be pretty high.

I’d rename Force Defences to Battle Trance or Lightsaber Combat (in reference to the D6 Star Wars RPG)

Carrion Feeder should be Dark side only

Light Side
Plant Surge: Casts Entangle

Force Meld: If a player is in a party, everyone in the party with at least 5 Light Side receives floor(LS/5) bonus ab.

Combustion: Deal durability damage to target’s weapon (or armor if no weapon is available)

Dark Side
Force Slow: Casts Slow

Force Rage: Gives target the Blood Frenzy effect

Darkshear: Add negative damage to target’s melee weapon

Force Destruction: Casts Horrid Wilting

Force Speed would likely look like…

R1 +10% Movement Speed
R2 +20%
R3 +30% +1 AC
R4 +40%
R5 +50% +2 AC +1 APR
R6 +60%
R7 +70% +3 AC +1 APR
R8 +80%
R9 +90% +3AC +2APR
R10 +100%
Because as I know it, at maximum force haste actually slows the world down around you and you move equivalent to 200% faster through it. Have it’s FP not too high, but it’s SP Pretty Steep.

I don’t know what to call these but I’ll try to make up names, maybe something already exists for them… I’m sure they do.

Force Concealment (Mind Trick, Maybe?)
R1 5% Concealment
R2 10%
R3 15%
R4 20%
R5 25%
R6 25% +Invisibility
R7 30% +Invis

R10 50% Concealment to self and Sphere of Invisibility. You’ll want to add blind fight to general to counter. (After Reading that back, I don’t like it but the general idea is there.)

Carrion Feeder
While Active, User Restores FP on a Kill.
High FP Cost, Long Duration.

Force Defenses
Must Equip Force armor and Light Saber
R1 Gain Dodge
R2 Gain Deflect Arrows
R3 +1 AC
R4 Defensive Roll
R5 Epic Dodge
You’ll need to make Defensive Roll and Epic Dodge also available for Light Armor, to be fair to non-force users

Force Choke could be a Dark Side version of Force Push. Bonus points if you can code it to be a forced freaking out emote instead of a knockdown.

(Man, dark-side is more fun to make things up for…)

Edit: Someone told me they’d like to see dark rage apply Vampiric Regeneration, being the darkside version of heal, more or less. So maybe add that at 2x the hp drain as vampiric regeneration. The idea here is that the HP drain / Vampiric forces you to stay in combat, feeding your rage.

Jedi / Sith Schools - 15 SP each (Because Generally a Jedi is only One of These)

Consular / Inquisitor - +5 Natural FP Regeneration
Gaurdian / Warrior - +3 AB, +2 Damage with Lightsabers,
Sentinel / Berserker - +3 Natural FP Regen, +2 AB With Lightsabers

Force Throw:
Both
Deals Damage to Target at range Based on Melee Weapon Damage

R1: Deals Half of Weapon Damage
R2: Deals Weapon Damage
R3: Deals 1.5x Weapon Damage
R4: Deals 2x Weapon Damage
R5: Deals 3x Weapon Damage

This simulates the force user’s ability to maintain the saber throw for revolutions from a “half swing” to three complete spins, before the saber returns. Using this ability leaves the user vulnerable to attack for a moment.

Force Pull
Both
Pulls Target to the Force User. Higher Ranks Deal damage and Issue a KD Effect

R1: Short Range, Brings Enemy to the User.
R2: Increase in Range
R3: Deals a Small Amount of Damage
R4: Deals a More Damage
R5: Deals Moderate Damage and Leaves Target KD’d for a round.

Just gonna put this down here, edit/expand it over time as my own contribution to force powers idea.
Much of this is pulled from SWTOR/Wookieepedia- then converted to NWN terms and mechanics. :slight_smile:
Keep in mind, I’m leaving it up to others to discuss the damage numbers when considering stats, as I don’t know the specifics on how they effect damage.

Dark Side

-Lightning Barrier-

Generate a barrier of lightning around yourself that shocks attackers and absorbs damage of all kinds.
Creates a flat damage barrier similar to stoneskin on yourself, shielding 20+10 damage/rank up to a rank of 10. It also deals 1d10/rank electric damage to melee attackers. Force cost is equal to half the shielded amount.

-Dark Consumption-
Channel the force within you to take from your physical form and siphon the very life from yourself to fill yourself with the power of the dark side.
Consume 10+10/rank up to 5 of your HP and transfer it to your force points.

CREATE A LINGERING STORM OF FORCE LIGHTNING THAT SWIRLS AND STRIKES VIOLENTLY AT ANY TARGETS WITHIN (EVEN ALLIES) DEALS 2D8 DAMAGE/RANK OF FORCE LIGHTNING IN A LARGE AREA OF EFFECT THAT LINGERS FOR 3+RANK/ROUND. RANKS UP TO RANK 5.
