Like many force sensitives Grath’abauzu’aese, Grath or Habauzua for short, he was taken in by the Coruscant Jedi order to be trained from a young age, showing a natural talent for varying skills offered, and lacking in others. Quickly taking to the more physical aspects of training than the mental, and often the spiritual side of teachings as a youngling.
As he grew he developed a more well-rounded capability and understanding of the force, taught to him by various padawans and knights. During his growth in the temple he was shut in from the outside world as most younglings are as they were moulded into the future of the jedi order. As he aged and underwent training, his prowess with a foil was noticed, and furthermore noted by Knight Berthrum, a headstrong jedi with a great skill with the lightsaber, having trained in various forms relentlessly.
Come time for Habauzua to undergo his initiate trials, he competently passed, with a confidence and assurance instilled in him by the previously mentioned Knight Berthrum, who after which would urge Habauzua to compete in the apprentice trials to gain more attention as a potential Padawan.
Through out the tournament Habauzua showed his keen skill with the lightsaber and his ability to move at haste using the force and managed to come second overall, best only by a Mirialan female with a keen aptitude for telekinesis and strategy, conserving herself and avoiding direct confrontation with the other contestants until she had no other choice, at which she would utilise her telekinetic ability to disarm, trip and even lift her opponents. Habauzua put up a good fight, but inevitably succumb to her skill. As a result, she was swiftly selected as a Padawan and praised for her intelligent approach to the entire scenario. Second to be chosen was Habauzua, who was chosen by two individuals, both knights with great skills with the lightsaber, when given the option, Habauzua would inevitably choose the more familiar Knight Berthrum.
Now a padawan under his knight, his training stepped up to more advanced techniques and refining what he had learned as an initiate. However such a situation was short lived, as Knight Berthrum, among various others became seduced by passion and followed Revan and Malak into the aid of the Republic. A late joiner to the cause, he would join for one battle and only one, one that would result in the mans demise. He died on Malachor V, along with many others to the Republic Superweapon, the Mass Shadow Generator.
Habauzua had been ordered by Knight Berthrum to remain behind, as him leaving to partake in such an affair would result in him being removed from the Order for his insubordination, he saw no reason his padawan should suffer the same. After the conversation took place, Habauzua went to inform the council of the indiscretion, though he was too late, as his teacher had already departed to partake in the battle.
Following such events he returned his newly crafted lightsaber to the council and decided it was best if he temporarily left the Coruscant Temple, with their permission, to find peace with what had transpired, and potentially seek out a possible new master. The council pointed him towards the Viscaran Order, with the hopes he would find a future away from Coruscant, he would find clarity with the events.
