She could hear the voices in the distance. They were muffled, barely distinguishable.
Was that Sienn? Doma? Her strength had long since left her, yet she was not afraid.
Someone was carrying her, this much she knew, but her eyes wouldnt open, and her body was no longer in her command. Then numbness set in and everything became silent. The Togruta found herself surrounded by darkness, but she was not afraid. Despite all that void, she was not alone, as the force was with her.
“So this is it, uh?” - Thess questioned herself.
The Jedi Code was well present in her mind—There is no death, there is the force" - she accepted this peacefully. She was ready.
The darkness gave way to images of her master, her fellow Jedi, her friends…
A sensation took over her, however, perhaps for being so close to joining the force. She could feel it… the cry for help in despair from those in need, and she couldn’t just ignore it.
She was a Jedi, and she would heed their calling.
“People need your help…” - she reminded herself - “Didn’t you tell Sienn she was not getting rid of you yet? Didn’t you promise not to disapoint your master? What would she think if she returned and you were gone? Honor your promises… A Jedi always keeps their word… so… wake up Thess” - she ordered herself once more - "You are not done yet!
The numbness gave way to a burning sensation that ran through her, the cold slowly replaced by warmth, and on her belly was the pain of the wound that almost claimed her.
A bright light blinded her before her eyes adjusted to the blurry image of the ceiling.
It took her a while to recognize it. It was Outpost Hope’s medical bay.
She looked around briefly, but it would take a while for her eyes to work properly. But she had made it back.
The force was with her.
