Backstory:
While he was born on Coruscant his parents came from elsewhere, his mother was actually the personal slave for his father and eventually Aria and Nathaniel were born, Cedric saw this as a great opportunity. He’d have his daughter be his perfect little girl to be married off to someone so he could get power for himself through her and Nate would be the best bodyguard for him…if he lived that is. As soon as Nate was able to he was forced to fight, kids his age and older than him were in his way and he learned very quickly the ways of the arena. Kill or be killed there was rarely an inbetween, he’d always choose the heavier weapon and thus his fights were won with feats of strength over feats of Dexterity. Every fight his sister would watch helpless and wishing she could do something and soon it was made clear there was, bits of food, clean water and even some decent medical attention kept Nate up and fighting.

The fights never stopped and for a good 13 years of life it’s all he really knew, he hated it and when a rival raided the arena one night Nate didn’t fight them, instead he adjusted ones aim for his Fathers head and walked away holding his mother and sisters hands. It wasn’t until a few years passed that he managed to find himself a trade he could get behind, with not much of an education behind him an elderly chef took him in while his sister and mother settled with their more stable and better lives with the man he now called his step father. The chef who took him in was a humble 4 star chef known as Manzo, a Zabrak man who despite being primarily a meat eat was renowned for his variety and boldness in experimentation.

As Nate learned from this man he formed a bond with him that was probably close to the sort of Father and Son relationship he had always wanted but never truly was able to realize. His years an apprentice chef started and his worry of failure drove him to be at his best at all times, this lead to his inevitable downfall as Manzo purposefully had him attempt the Rainbow Plateau, a dish as exotic and colourful as it sounded. Nate tried his best to recreate this dish and failed miserably as the endless nights and days leading up to this test mounted nothing but stress onto Nate’s shoulders. He managed several steps which surprised Manzo but this dish’s complexity caused Nate to make too many mistakes and end up completely ruining the dish. Devastated Nate almost gave up but Manzo quickly taught him the lessons of failure being as good a teacher as he himself was to Nate. When he was 18 Nate was declared a fully fledged chef and served in the Restaurant for another solid year before feeling something calling him, he was cooped up in the same kitchen for so long, he wanted to ask the questions about the arts and sciences of cooking and with Manzo patting him on the back and wishing him luck he wandered from the place he called home and simply moved forward. The old Zabrak smiling as his apprentice left to find his place in the Galaxy, even if the roads eventually led back to him.

Years passed and Nate’s still filled with questions, not all of them about cooking but he is certainly eager to prove himself as a capable chef and make his mark none the less.
