Name: Nico Amarill
Age: 18
Height: 1.55 Meters
Weight: 45 Kilograms
Hair: Red-Brown
Eyes: Blue
The first thing that would be noticed about Nico, if you were to notice her would be the entirely artificial left arm, the second would be that she tries to shy away from peoples gaze. She rarely seems to want to be seen or noticed, her hair is a mess of tangled hair looking as if it has never seen a comb in its life, she keeps a small pony tail which helps keep it out of her eyes. Her clothing would look stained and as if they were accustomed to being worn when working on machinery, having a notable dinge to them.
History
Nicos earliest memories are of the floors, cleaning them until they shined. Her master never paying her attention unless she failed to meet his expectations for a task. Once she grew older she was put on more complex tasks then simple floor cleaning, being stuck with helping in the workshop repairing things with her small arms. She showed an aptitude for the work, seeming to enjoy doing something that largely kept her out of the notice of others and the harsh gaze of her master.
However one fateful day she was tasked with getting a tool unstuck from a turbine, she was told it was off, and reached in to dislodge the tool, however she was told wrong, the large turbine started spinning up and she momentarily felt pain before everything went red. When she awoke, her arm felt like it was being pricked with millions of needles and she reached for it, to find nothing there. The turbine had ripped all but the upper third of her bicep off.
The next day she was made to go back to work, a slave who can not work has no value, and a slave with no value is disposed of. She had to work twice as hard to make up for her new limitations, and spent years working herself to the bone to just get the meager scraps of food she was given. She learned as she grew over to use some of the scraps of food to lure the rats, and then smash a few to get some extra food in her.
Years of living like this had taken their toll, she was shorter and lighter then she should have been, being given less food for being less capable. She struggled by each and every day attempting to make it by.
A faint glimmer of hope walked into her life in the form of a man looking for someone to help him with some mechanical problems. Wanting to be rid of her the overseer offered a cheap price, knowing the master would praise him for getting rid of a nuisance. To almost everyone’s surprise he accepted, and the overseer greedily counted the credits and the man took her. True to his word he had her help him fix a problem with the wiring on a security panel, lucky for her it was something she could do with one arm, she had to reach in and pull a few wires then put them back in the order he told her. The man was kind and kept a warm smile during the exchange, it was relatively easy it just seemed as if he couldn’t do it easily himself. After they were done he asked her the most important question of her life “Do you want to be free?” at a loss for words she meekly nodded to the question, and he simply stated to her she was free, and could leave if she wished, but was welcomed to stay.
She ended up choosing to stay, and was taken under the wing of Issac Amarill, early on he took her in to get her a new arm, they cut away the worthless stump she had and put in a full high grade prosthetic. This is also the time she was introduced to her big brother Tran, at first he seemed cold to her, but quickly warmed up, and acted as her self appointed protector. For the first time in her life she felt at home.
She stayed with the small group, helping out with maintenance and learning odd jobs to help support the others, she learned to use a blaster as well in case they ever needed to defend themselves. As the two children grew older she developed affection towards her adopted brother, but was never able to act on these impulses, and he never seemed to be interested in her.
After Issac retired and parted with words of encouragement for the pair they opted to stay together, she still used her brother as a shield against the world, but knew she always wanted to stand with him no matter what the circumstance.
