The vanilla function for Circle Kick is that it will target another enemy who is nearby for an extra attack. However, it also has a few bugs.
-
Circle Kick will cause you to change targets. Meaning it doesn’t just deliver the blow to the new target - it completely changes your target. This can cause conflicts when fighting multiple enemies, since killing one enemy is usually far more efficient than slowly damaging tons of them.
-
Circle Kick has also been known to flat-foot characters (which causes loss of DEX-based AC) when their new target moves out of the reach of Circle Kick. It’ll cause the PC to essentially exit combat.
Suggested changes:
Change Circle Kick to randomly damage a nearby enemy with damage type appropriate to the martial weapon without changing focus.
