Non-Rank: Mare’vod (“Discovering Siblings”)
- The starting rank of all Mandalorians, mare’vod represents an individual who is just beginning their path to becoming a Mandalorian. To obtain this rank, an individual need only begin to wear the beskar’gam (armor) and work towards learning to speak the language. They typically accomplish this under the guidance of a full Mandalorian, and to be accepted fully into the Clans, they must complete the Verd’goten (“Birth of a Warrior”).
Test - Verd’goten (“Birth of a Warrior”)
- All journeys must start somewhere. When a hopeful to the ways of the Resol’nare begins their path, they must prove that they have knowledge of the Six Actions. They must be able to recite each of the Six Actions and explain what they mean. They should be with the faction for at least two weeks, and need to be sponsored by a member of rank Verd or higher. To attain this rank represents a dedication to the faction and a willingness to follow the Resol’nare.
T0 Rank: Vod
- The first rank of a true Mandalorian, the rank of Vod represents an individual who has passed their verd’goten, and is well and truly a member of the Mando’ade. At this point, many will find an aliit and become engrossed in the culture. They will live with their people and contribute to their society, all the while continuing to learn of the Resol’nare and applying the Six Actions to their daily lives. As they progress in these teachings, the Mando’ade around them will begin to take notice, and should they deem them worthy in skill and deed, they will raise them up so that they may attain the rank of Verd.
T1 Rank: Verd (“Warrior”)
- The rank of Verd represents an individual who has not only passed the verd’goten, but one who continues to live the lessons that they learned through following the Resol’nare. They are the foundation of the culture, and for many Mandalorians this is as far as they wish to rise. For the ranks beyond are positions of leadership within the clans, and not all are fit to lead, nor do they seek it. They can only be obtained by completing the Tests of the Al’ram. Counting four in total, these tests are the Test of the Manda, the Test of Iron, the Test of Vode, and Test of Education.
Kot’akaan be manda (Test of the Manda)
- This test should focus on the soul of the candidate, their adherence to the Resol’nare, and making sure that they are a Mandalorian through and through. The candidate must have others from outside of their immediate bui’tsad (family lineage) vouch for their living of the Resol’nare in their everyday life. A candidate could have members of another clan vouch for them, or members of the clan who are not their immediate vode. The words of a lover, (former or current) and parents and children of the candidate would not be accepted. To be Al’ram, the candidate must exhibit their adherence to the Resol’nare so that all Mandalorians may follow their example. Those that speak on behalf of the candidate must be Mandalorians of good standing, preferably of the rank of Verd or higher.
Kot’akaan be beskar (Test of the Iron)
- An individual test, pitting the candidate against some worthy opponent. This can be an RP fight against a greater foe, or a mechanical 1v1 against one of the stronger mobs on the server. If the mechanical option is chosen, then the threat should be of suitable difficulty. At the time of writing, a Dragon Turtle on Dathomir and a Sandworm on Tatooine are suitable options. The goal here is not that the candidate must win, but that the candidate must put on a good showing. Getting the enemy to near death should count as a victory.
Kto’akaan be vode (Test of Vode)
- The candidate must gather the vode for the purpose of this task. Their aliit’alor, or a suitably high ranking Mando’ade in the case of a clan-of-one, will give them a task that will benefit the clans, typically a raid on an enemy supply location. The candidate must then gather, organize, and execute the task with no assistance from those outside the Mando’ade.
Kto’akaan be bajur (Test of Education)
- The candidate must have at least 4 total Masteries ranks, one of which must be at rank 3. One of these must be a skill that benefits the Mandalorians as a whole (such as Beskar Smithing, Shipwright, Leadership, etc.) -OR- the candidate must assist another Mandalorian in earning a Mastery due to training (such as Beskad mastery assisting another player in learning CQC).
T2 Rank: Al’ram (“Conflict Leader”)
- A leader among the Mandalorians, the Al’ram is looked to not only in times of war, but also in times of preparation. Their skills are not just something in which they excel, but in which they also pass along the knowledge of to others. They are teachers of the clans, and resolute members of the Mando’ade. From their ranks, the growth of an individual is not enough to progress. Skill in battle and knowledge of warfare are but some of the skills in which an Al’ram must be competent, and even then not all progress beyond this rank. Those that do, are a select and chosen few (and only picked by the DM Team).
T3 Rank: Shukar’alor (“Crusade Leader”)
- Among the ranks of the Al’ram there are a select few who seem truly born to lead. They are Mandalorians who have served the clans faithfully, gathering them towards a common cause. Masters of the battlefield, they wage wars beyond as well. None should question their devotion to the Resol’nare for they are the living, breathing example of each of the Six Actions. Should the Mask of Mand’alor be found, these are those who would step up to claim it.
