“Dantooine… Back and forth. For the past few years, Lothal, Dantooine, Tatooine, Dantooine… Why not just assign me to a new Mentor?” Rothel sits with his face buried in his hands, clearly distraught.
“Maybe they just want to test your limits,” the man next to him rests his hand on Ro’s shoulder." They… I don’t know. They know who taught you, so maybe they’re just… Being careful. They don’t want to put you in the wrong house, y’know?"
“Eh, yeah, I suppose you’re right. I should be patient. I trust the Council,” Rothel stands up straight now, looking now to his friend.
“Well there’s your first mistake,” Rothel was given a joking smirk, and all he could do was chuckle in response, shaking his head.
“My first mistake was signing up to be a Jedi, but I am a foolish man who makes many mistakes,” the two have a fit of laughter, then sigh. “Thanks Dariun.”
“Hey, no problem man. Can’t bottle up emotions, gotta have a laugh every now and then, yeah?” The two share a brotherly hug and go their separate ways. They both have their own missions to do.
Later that day, Rothel left the common room to meet up with the council. Approaching their door, he was met by a Jedi.
“Rothel Janoo?” The human asked. Rothel nodded and stepped closer. “The Council is in a meeting, but they wanted me to brief you on your assignment.”
“I figured as much,” Rothel replied. Though the words could have been taken as cynical or harsh, his tone reflected otherwise. He understood that the duties the Council undertook were time-consuming. “I’m ready.”
“Excellent, right this way,” the human ushered the mechanic-Jedi along as they began to walk through the halls. “this won’t take long.”
“So, where to this time?” Rothel seemed eager to go on another outing. The previous mission had put some stress on his mind.
“You’re bound for Glee Anselm. There’s a nautolan who requested Jedi aid in regards to Sith sympathizers raiding his business. He said he needed someone who was skilled with computers, and given the circumstances, the council deemed you worthy of the assignment.”
“Alright. I’ll leave within the rotation,” The two bowed to each other.
“May the Force be with you, Padawan.”
