Subject: Jedi Code Reflection Assignment]There is no Emotion, There is Peace
Emotions are an inherent part of life, this much is true. How feelings and emotions are acted upon is what makes all the difference, however. To find peace is to find balance, acknowledging and understanding emotions, but not allowing them to cloud judgement or influence actions too heavily. The balance attained through moderation and understanding is what frees the mind of conflict and brings clarity.
There is no Ignorance, There is Knowledge
Knowledge can be found in all things however great or small. Openness to learning and listening is key to greater understanding. Approaching everyone with the understanding that they have some knowledge that I do not serves to expand my own knowledge, and for I to expand theirs, if they are receptive to such. Much as the light of the flame pushes back against the shadows of the night, so too does the light of knowledge banish the darkness of ignorance.
There is no Passion, There is Serenity
If unchecked emotions cloud judgement, passion blinds it entirely. To give in to passion is to relinquish control to one’s emotions, allowing them to not only influence one’s thoughts and actions, but to dictate them entirely. Passion is like a typhoon, raging unchecked and uncontrolled. Serenity, by contrast, is like the eye of the storm… calm, clear, and unaffected by the violent winds and rain outside.
There is no Chaos, There is Harmony
The Force connects all things, and the will of the Force knows all things that have happened, are happening, or will happen, and thus there is no chaos. Everyone and everything has a part to play in the greater harmony of the Force, even the most seemingly chaotic events and individuals. Acceptance and understanding of this, especially in light of current events may perhaps be the most important step in finding harmony.
There is no Death, There is the Force
Death… and the fear of death is natural, and ever-present, especially in times of conflict like now. Though challenging, perhaps the most daunting of obstacles, through understanding of the Force, that fear can be overcome. To overcome that fear through understanding and acceptance is, like death itself, a step on the journey to become one with the Force. This does not mean one should actively seek death, however, merely that acceptance of its natural inevitability will break the hold that fear of, and despair over, death has, thus freeing the mind and paving the way to greater peace and serenity

After sending the document and sliding the datapad back into her pack, Selene stood and stretched. Given how long the shadows had grown, and how low the sun was on the horizon, she had sat beneath that tree outside the temple for some time, contemplating each aspect of the Code before condensing and committing her ruminations to written text.
