So I put together a chart to compare the stat capabilities of specific skills.
And I found things I did not like so I figured I would share them.
Firstly.
Dex is so much better then STR in the current system it is scary.
On paper it looks fairly even, STR has 4 primary skills, 4 secondaries, and Dex has six primaries and 2 secondaries.
However if you look at where these are it is not a healthy distribution.
STR has all of its primaries in the melee skill category, meaning you are going to be leveling these one at a time at most, and they are redundant to have.
Meanwhile Dex has, one melee skill as a pimary, lightsabers even, both ranged skills obviously, and one armor skill, then two crafting skills ontop of that, one of them being the utilitarian engineering skill.
Dex has so many advantages it is nuts.
Then when we move onto con, it is actualy pretty good, it has Heavy armor, shields, one craft, and the gathering and scavanging skills for primaries. And a good chunk of secondaries spread around.
Int is also way better then wisdom.
Int has Fabrication, Cooking, Medicine, and Darkside for primaries… Wisdom has… Light side… Wisdom has more secondaries, and many of the int skills cap at 50 or lower, this still makes int much easier to raise and have a higher max cap.
And cha simply has force armor for primary, cooking as a secondary, and a bunch of tetraries.
My suggestion would be to, give cooking 50 levels instead of 30, and make it a Wisdom/Cha skill, and then change weapon crafting into str primary instead of dex, and change shields to str/con instead of con/str, I would also suggest changing one handed into Dex/str, this gives dex a melee that is not lightsabers, alternatively make finesse weapons their own classification for skill, and give them access to the two weapon fighting feats with a dex/str primary.
I think this would help balance out the skills a bit more.
