Name: Soterio Kley
Species: Human
Age: 21
Background:
Soterio Kley was born to an unsuspecting family as only child. Both of his parents were poor refugees following their rich employers throughout the galaxy. They met on a Republic transport ship with refugees escaping the front lines of the Mandalorian wars. Luckily, this transport crashed on a habitable planet but many passengers lost their loves. As survivors and settlers of the planet began exploring, many discovered the rich and untapped deposits of the planet. Soterio’s family found themselves at the bottom of the totem pole as many flocked to exploit the riches of the plan and in need of skilled manual labor.
As Soterio matured quickly by needing to support his family at an early age, he was lucky to be exposed to a world of fine craftsmanship and fabrication. He was thorough, dependible, consistent and cheap in the eyes of many employers. His can-do attitude and curiosity to the unknown began to spark
and reveal subtle sensitivities that his parents instantly recognized from their previous life, but unfamiliar to one who has never heard of the force and parents never spoke of. To his own thoughts, Soterio thought nothing beyond these subtle flickers in thoughts and inner feelings.
Due to the growth of many mining corporations and frequent visitors throughout the galaxy, eventually, money attracts the greedy and organizations like the Hutts and the Empire. With their experience, Soterio’s family gathered what money they had available, favors from their employers and shipped their son off world. With minimal exposure to the Force but general awareness, they knew fate would guide their son to a life more suited to his seeded sensitivities. Though young and naïve to the galaxy, Soterio trusts the direction of his family but looks to the future to return and hope he meets the aspirations and expectations of his family. Without any context his father’s final words were “May the force be with you…” Thinking nothing other than ‘what does that mean…’ he hugs his parents and boards the craft.
After a long ride, he finds himself looking for a means to survive at CZ-220. He was fortunate enough to find quick work on the station to get him planet side. The city was lively, however, Soterio senses uneasiness. The corporate presence of a corporation by the name of Czerka and refugees through the encampment remind him of home and not in a good way.
After venturing out on a Karth Hound hunt, per a local job, he nearly ran into a friendly Twi’lek that went by the name “Initiate Tranada.” She briefly referenced a temple, training and a few other details that were foreign yet familiar… almost hearing the echoes of his fathers partying words.
