OVERVIEW
The Chiss were a blue skinned, near-human sentient species that possessed red eyes and dark blue hair. They hailed from the planet Csilla.
The Chiss Ascendancy was the governing body of the Chiss, their domain located in the Unknown Regions. They had little contact with the rest of the galaxy, their existence was regarded as mostly a legend even within the Unknown Regions.
SOCIETY
The ruling class of the Chiss Ascendancy was known as the Aristocra. The Chiss military consisted of the Chiss Defense Fleet .
The primary Chiss language was Cheunh and in their rare contacts with outsiders, the Chiss used the Sy trade language. communication was done in the Chiss script.
Most Chiss names were multi syllabic and consisted of three distinct parts, as in Mitth’raw’nuruodo. The first portion identified an individual’s family, the second was the given name and the third indicated other social factors. Aside from the long form of their names, the Chiss also used shortened variants—for example “Mitth’raw’nuruodo” could be shortened to “Thrawn”. These short form names were known as core names, and for the sake of expedience, core names were conventionally used in all except the most formal situations. In a rare case of an outsider among the Chiss, the human Eli Vanto was given the standard three-part name “Eli’van’to,” which his shipmates reduced to the core name “Ivant.” Some names did not follow these norms, such as that of Admiral Ar’alani, who had a two-part name with no core name.
PLAYER NOTES
Chiss generally are seen as arrogant with an “I am superior to you” attitude. It is their true belief that any race outside their own is a lesser race.
Chiss in general hate the force and any use of it, especially so from other Chiss deeming them freaks and outsiders among their own. Chiss showing the force are either exiled or executed by their own depending on which is more appropriate at that time. Exile generally being the more common of the two.
A player playing a native of Csilla and not exiled in general would be in general entirely devoted to the ideals of the Ascendancy. Helping them advance and grow.
Chiss have a strong hatred for Droids, finding them vastly useless, slow and inefficient and will generally go out of their way to avoid working with them.
All player notes are from my time researching and actively playing a Chiss with quite the bit of lore research.
