As somebody who likes to rp their stats, I feel like the stats raise a bit to quickly. Given how much leveling is going on with the skills, I think it might be more realistic to have stats raise one point every ten levels for an associated skill. Otherwise it wont be long before everyone is running around with all their stats in the 30s, as powerful as gods.
When you have a character concept, and you try to match your stats to represent that concept, it kind of gets ruined when your stats shoot through the roof. I mean, how can you roleplay a clumsey oaf when your dex is 35, or a shy padowan when you have a 40 charisma, or a sickly waif when you have 30 con?
I mean, if we’re going to put enough importance on stats to match them with suitable skills, thereby making them an important part of crafting our characters, don’t we want to make sure we keep those stats at a believable level so we can realistically play those stats which are supposed to represent different facets to our characters’ being?
TL;DR - If we want to roleplay our stats, then too high of a progression can hurt our character concepts. A better progression might be to gaint 1 stat point per 10 associated skill levels.
