Subdual mode aka I don't want to kill him, just savagely beat him

Can we get subdual mode?
Ideally as a text command like /sub that toggles it on or off, all it should do is reduce an enemy to 1hp and put them on the ground for I would say 30 seconds or five rounds, instead of killing them at 0 hp.

I did Subdual mode on another server once and it turned into a bunch of sparring matches. :slight_smile:

I find it’s a little confusing that people would be able to spar with something like a lightsaber. Maybe if our animations were customizable we could get away with it, but it just looks weird to me.

Totally not opposed to the idea. Just my thoughts right now :slight_smile:

There is actually a canonical force power to make lightsabers not kill people.
But it is also partially a suspension of disbelief, people also can just respawn from a lightsaber wound with no long term effects.

On another server there is a subdual mode that works only with specific weapons, mostly bludgeoning weapons. So we could have a subdual mode that works specifically with batons, martial arts, and such which would also give those weapons a nice little niche. Like the point of using a baton over a bladed weapon or lightsaber is to disable someone anyway, right?

And to make sparring a thing, in addition to the subdual mode there could be an arena area where you can just respawn full health in the arena. Stylize it as a virtual reality simulation for training.
