Weilliln - the begining

Weilliln can from a small village located under the flight path of the local spaceport. The sight of ships coming in and leaving always moved him and he knew one day he would fly one. He learned as much as he could about ship systems. His parents encouraged him in his pursuits of engineering, as it was good steady work, and by 14 cycles he was working at the port doing odd jobs and helping out where he could.

On his sixth year at the port he was an already well established repair man who earned the nickname Lucky from his fellow repairmen because he always seemed to find the issue on his first or second look for the problem and became somewhat in demand when someone had a new issue to diagnose.

Late I his sixth year he met a young Exo zoologist who had just come home from her studies they hit it off and within a year they where bounded lifemates and not long after they had their first of two children, the next to follow a year later.

The next 20 years or so where relatively peaceful both children grew into capable adults and the parents spent as much time with them as possible, her working in the village teaching basic scincece to the younglings and biology to the older ones and him going to the port once a week to diagnose new issues and also doing repairs in the village.

Once the children where off starting their own lives outside the home they both talked about getting back to their long term projects, hers being a research trip offworld to study with a well regarded university and his being going back to his dream of owning a ship and piloting it to the stars.

Over the years they had both laid the groundwork to be able to pursue their dreams once the first batch of children left the tree and now was their time. With a heartfelt goodbye to their families they both set off on adventures long planed and looked forward to, communicating every few weeks to keep each other apprised on how the adventure was going.

It took Weilliln almost a full year to finish his ship, admittedly it was not much to look at but it was his and he could finally take to the stars like he had always wish he could.

He spent a few years learning the transport routs and trade and to make ends meet he would occasionally work ship repair jobs as a diagnostician where he once again gained a reputation as being very lucky and very good at it. One day he was working on a particularly tricky issue that had maybe 20 different possible causes and he figured it out on his first guess. The ship turned out to belong to an old jedi who told Weilliln that he was force sensitive and took him on for a short spell teaching him the very basics of control and sujested he go to Vis to seek out the Jedi and find a proper master.

Part II

Weilliln followed his first teachers advice and went to Vis to seek out a proper teacher. He had heard that the new jedi counsele only took the very young as pupils so he did not have high hopes in joining the Jedi but figured he might find someone willing to give him some training.

He asked around and was told that the temple here would take older members as initiates which gave him some hope that maybe he could join the Jedi order and receive training from them as his first instructor had recommended. That hope was short lived as all the active members of the order he talked to claimed that his age was not an issue but his family was. This was something that he had never heard as in all the old stories the Jedi where often married and even several of the folks attached to the order he meet here had Jedi parents.

Solo training was all he could muster for a long while so he worked on the basics thought to him by his first teacher and worked out many other things on his own, even running into a man that lead him to learn to make training foils. During this time he offered and received material help from members of the Jedi Order but most of his advice and training came from a few force adepts he meet along the way.

One member of the old order kept pushing for him to keep petitioning the order and after a few talks with a trandoshan Knight of the order he took one last request to the masters of the temple. While never really expecting a yes their response shocked Weilliln to his core, they would only take him if he renounced his wife and children. Appalled, not only that they would ask such but they would accept someone willing to do so, he declined and has since distanced himself from the order. He still supplies them with the animal parts that they need when he can but no longer has any of the illusions as to the glory of the Jedi Order as painted in those childhood stories.

Weilliln is barred from Jedi training, as the new order will not train anyone they will not accept into their ranks, leaving the majority to swell the Sith ranks, with which they currently have an alliance. As he has not love for the Sith or their ways he now seeks other force adepts that have rejected both orders to learn from in the wilds and other force using sects to find teachers.

Weilliln has become disillusioned with the Jedi, seeing their current state as a sad and fearful overreaction to recent events clearly hinting to a very flawed core, very unlike the noble protectors of the stories he grew up with.
