Background
Xalark was born in 3992 BBY to one of the earlier enterprising settlers of Dreshdae, in Korriban. His mother worked as a waitress at the Drunk Side, while his father was a Sith trainee who oft frequented said cantina. The offspring of the two’s dalliance, he was taught from young that he was the descendant of some powerful Sith, one who could trace his lineage back to the early days of Xandor. This fantastical conjuration of his mother’s was formative, and instilled in him a fascination with the ancient histories of the Sith.
Poverty was the duo’s constant companion, for Xalark’s father was not wont to stay often in Dreshdae. Aside from when his cantina dalliances brought him out of the Sith Academy, the Sith trainee was complicit in smuggling Sith artifacts out of Korriban, abetting a number of spacers and freight-crews involved in the illicit trade. It was one of these rapacious episodes that led to his downfall, however, as the discovery of his involvement led to his execution; though, not before he left hidden a small crate of such artifacts with his lover and bastard son.
Much of what resided in the crate was rather useless. Tattered pages bleeding with incantations scribed in the Old Tongue. A chipped tablet off of a stele that contained an incomplete star-map of the Nache Bhelfia. A skin-bound journal with scribbled notes swearing that it was from one of the disciples of Sorzus Syn, though its ink has either dried or been smeared so as to be barely legible. Few antiquarians would be too impressed, but to a young boy drunk on tales of an age when what it means to be Sith is more than petty politics and laser swords, but runeblades and sorceries and alchemies, it was everything.
The constant demands of credits and the life of a settler did not avail itself well to Xalark, whose budding Force Sensitivity and predilection for the Dark Side instilled in him a gnawing hunger to strive. He would find his way from Dreshdae come his adulthood, leaving family behind, and seeking fortunes and revelations in the stars beyond, rapaciously chasing tales of Sith artifacts and sorceries.
Xalark may oft be found haunting the sands of Korriban, confronting strangers who would tread the world he considers sacred, combing tombs that may be unearthed in time, reveling in the whispered secrets of the Dark Side within those loci as he studies their faded glyphs and inscriptions.
Goals
-
Xalark aims for a certain Sith renaissance, a revival of Sith lore that is aimed at the worship of Typhojem and a veneration of the legacies of Xandor and Ajanta Pall. He is eager to share this (orthodox/heretical, depending on perspective) philosophy of his with those who come by Korriban.
-
He seeks to liberate Korriban from the dominion of Malak, whom he loathes for personal reasons, but would not hesitate to coach his defiance of Malak in whatever moral or political language that is pragmatically convenient to him, or even join Malak first to scheme a betrayal. He is currently politically unaligned.
-
He wants to start a Sith Cult based off of Korriban, a bastardized version of the Sith Academy. He seeks fellow disciples and teachers that may wish to establish this font of knowledge in what he considers the most sacred of the Nache Bhelfia.
-
He seeks Sith Holocrons that may further the study of Sith sorceries, incantations, spells and rituals. He seeks ritualists and those willing to contribute towards his quest for knowledge.
